Mountain Gull Trading Company was founded in 1987 by Daniel Morris. The company began small, selling primarily blankets, patterns and other small items at fur trade era, Mountain Man Rendezvous. As it grew, artwork was added when an artist, Ken Schmidt offered us a "deal that couldn't be refused" and thus the dye was cast. Our inventory shifted mainly into artwork portraying three time periods of American history, namely the French and Indian War period, The Revolutionary War period and lastly the fur trade Mountain Man period. Since that point back in the late 1980's, we have been blessed to carry many fine American artists, some of which are included on this website.

Mountain Gull Trading Company in the late 1990's began again to diversify its inventory, and started adding items sought after by the re-enactors that make up a very large part of our customer base. We now stock many items including 100% wool blankets, historical books, buffalo jerky, over the knee size re-enactor stockings, hand made and all natural hand lotion, gun flints and of course lots of quality artwork.

The company can be seen at many re-enactments of the above three time periods up and down the east coast from the early spring into the late fall. I, as the proprietor and owner, am also actively involved in the re-enactment hobby and regularly "take the field" for battles and other portrayals.
